Energy NL Remembers Offshore Ally, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney

(St. John’s, NL – March 1, 2024) Energy NL issued the following statement today on the passing of former prime minister, The Right Honourable Minister Brian Mulroney.

“Prime Minister Brian Mulroney supported the Atlantic Accord which provided joint management of the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore and enshrined in legislation that our province would be the principal beneficiary of the industry. His support for the Atlantic Accord and the offshore never wavered, despite many challenges and obstacles. On behalf of Energy NL – our members, board of directors, and staff – I offer my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Prime Minister Brian Mulroney and offer our gratitude for his service to Canada, and Newfoundland and Labrador.”
