Under his leadership as Chief Operating Officer, Cougar Helicopters has earned recognition as a global leader in harsh-environment helicopter operations, demonstrating that a regional company can stand proudly alongside the world’s largest operators. Wherever Hank goes, he carries his pride in Newfoundland and Labrador with him. Through his warmth, humour, storytelling, and gracious hospitality, he has become a true ambassador for this province and for the people who make its energy sector thrive. Hank embodies so much of what is best about Newfoundland and Labrador: pioneering, proud, passionate, practical, and people-centred. His influence can be seen in the strength of the company he leads, the standards he champions, the industry relationships he has built, and, most importantly, the many people whose lives and careers he has touched along the way. Jenna Broders represents the next generation of energy leaders in Newfoundland and Labrador, bringing technical expertise, curiosity, and a genuine commitment to building the province’s energy future. As a Process Engineer with North Atlantic, she is contributing to some of the province’s most exciting emerging energy initiatives, including the Green Energy Hub and Wind-to-Hydrogen project. Jenna is an active participant in the broader energy community, contributing her voice to conversations about clean growth and the future of the industry. She also makes a point of engaging with students and early-career professionals, helping to inspire the next generation of people who will shape Newfoundland and Labrador’s energy sector. What stands out most about Jenna is how she is building her career with integrity, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of responsibility to her province. For these reasons, Jenna is an exceptional example of the talent and potential within the next generation of our industry and a worthy recipient of the Energy NL Rising Star Award. |

Ashley Noseworthy is a leader who champions diversity and inclusion by putting it into practice every day, creating opportunities for others, and helping to make Newfoundland and Labrador’s energy sector welcoming, equitable, and inclusive. As Owner and President of Edgewise Environmental Consultancy Ltd., she has used her experience in the energy and ocean industries to create a business where inclusion goes beyond policy and is a fundamental part of the culture. Under Ashley’s leadership, Edgewise actively creates opportunities for people from underrepresented groups, including women, persons with disabilities, newcomers, and individuals from diverse racial and national backgrounds. She has built a workplace where people are encouraged to be themselves, where accessibility is supported, and where different perspectives are welcomed and valued. Ashley is helping to change the conversation around who belongs in the energy and ocean industries. As a woman leading a business in a traditionally male-dominated sector, she leads by demonstrating that diversity is a strength that can make organizations and industries better. Because of her leadership and everyday commitment to inclusion, Ashley is a worthy recipient of the Energy NL Diversity & Inclusion Award. |

Altomaxx Technologies is a remarkable Newfoundland and Labrador business growth story built on innovation, disciplined expansion, and ambition that reaches far beyond the province’s borders. What began with a single drone purchased in 2018 has grown into an international operation serving more than 30 countries across five continents, with offices spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East and, most recently, Guyana. Despite this impressive global growth, Altomaxx has remained firmly rooted in Newfoundland and Labrador, with a predominantly local workforce and a commitment to bringing international talent and opportunity to the province. The company has continually expanded from its core expertise in drone-based data acquisition into complementary areas including emissions management, ground penetrating radar, bathymetry, wind turbine inspection, uranium exploration and AI-powered fault detection. It is also the only accredited certification body in the world for ISO 21384-3, the international standard for drone operations, meaning operators from Dubai to Europe now certify to a scheme administered out of St. John’s. Innovation in Environmental Sustainability Award

St. John’s International Airport Authority is demonstrating how environmental sustainability can be embedded into the day-to-day operations and long-term planning of a major piece of infrastructure. YYT’s Environmental Sustainability and Carbon Management Plan goes beyond compliance, bringing emissions reduction into decisions about buildings, transportation, fleet management, operations and future capital projects. By combining emissions tracking, reduction targets, project prioritization, and ongoing monitoring, YYT has created a practical framework for turning environmental goals into measurable action. It has reduced its corporate emissions by approximately 14 per cent from its 2019 baseline, despite passenger traffic recovering to approximately 95 per cent of pre-pandemic levels. For its measurable progress, forward-looking carbon management, and commitment to engaging its airport community in environmental action, St. John’s International Airport Authority is a deserving recipient of the Energy NL Innovation in Environmental Sustainability Award. |
