(St. John’s, NL – June 1, 2022) The second day of the Energy NL Annual Conference & Exhibition 2022 concluded after amazing presentations about the world-class energy resources present in Newfoundland and Labrador, including significant renewable energy potential which was the focus of a panel discussion by industry leaders in wind and hydrogen.
“The announcement today at our conference that Pattern Energy and the Port of Argentia have signed an Option to Lease Agreement for a potential wind energy and green hydrogen project is another example of the exceptional energy opportunities before us. Our future is bright when you consider the significant offshore resources still present and the appeal these lower carbon reserves have around the globe, including companies like bp Canada. The panel discussion today was fascinating as it explored our vast wind and hydrogen potential and the opportunities that exist to develop these resources for the benefit of communities across the province. Punctuating the day was an insightful presentation by David Hutchens of Fortis Inc that showcased how a Newfoundland and Labrador company can accomplish great things in the global energy space and how renewable and non-renewable energies will be needed, together, for some time.”
