“Day Two of the Energy NL Conference & Exhibition 2026 continued to showcase the significant energy resources of our province with updates from Equinor, North Atlantic Group of Companies, and Cenovus Energy, three companies leading the dynamic growth underway in Newfoundland and Labrador. Hearing the leads of two regulatory authorities speak to the need of ensuring an efficient and effective regulatory process that can help encourage development was a revelation for our members and a discussion that left everyone feeling more confident about our path to success. We also had an important discussion on having Indigenous companies as part of energy projects that was beneficial for many members who are beginning to understand how best to form such relationships. Our day ended with the riveting story of Chris Lemons and his ordeal of being stranded on the ocean floor in perilous circumstances. It was a moving talk, capping an extraordinary day.”
