Energy NL Mourns the Loss of Industry Leader Cabot Martin

(St. John’s, NL – September 6, 2022) The following statement was issued today by Energy NL CEO Charlene Johnson on the recent passing of Mr. Cabot Martin.

“Newfoundland and Labrador recently lost a founder of its offshore oil and gas industry, and on behalf of Energy NL members I offer my sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Cabot Martin. Cabot Martin was a staunch believer in the future of the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore industry, as well as a passionate proponent of our province to be the primary beneficiary of the many benefits that industry would bring. Of his many professional accomplishments, his influence upon the creation of the Atlantic Accord is a part of his legacy that will resonate for decades to come. Cabot Martin’s knowledge, passion, and commitment will be missed, yet never forgotten.”

As part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the association, Energy NL (then Noia) recognized the contribution of Cabot Martin to the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry by presenting him and 12 industry influencers with the Industry Achievement Award.

Energy NL represents approximately 460 member organizations worldwide which are involved in the energy sector. Members are active in all areas of the supply and service sector and include a diverse representation of businesses that range from offshore supply vessels and helicopters, carbon reduction and sustainable technologies, health and safety equipment and training, engineering solutions and fabricators to law firms and human resource agencies.
