Helping our members create diverse and inclusive workplaces

I am really excited about a November event we have in the works to help Noia members offer diverse and inclusive workplaces.

As we all recognize, diversity and inclusion practices are imperative for employee engagement and business success, yet some organizations struggle with the capacity to implement such practices. Our diversity and inclusion committee has been diligently working to put together a program that is informative and constructive, one that will provide members and other interested organizations with real actions to support them in offering diversity and inclusion best practices within their organizations. This one-day session is designed to specifically help attendees understand and implement these practices. We intend for the day to offer takeaways attendees can apply right away and have an immediate impact upon their workplace.

The exceptional lineup of presenters we already have committed for this event includes Kathy Hawkins with Inclusion NL, Karen Walsh of the Office to Advance Women Apprentices, Stephanie Howlett with Diversity NL, and Amorell Saunders N’Daw from KBRS. They will discuss why diversity and inclusion are vital to overall success and highlight ways leaders and employees can recognize and remove barriers to diversity and inclusion.

The Diversity & Inclusion: Creating a D&I Supportive Workplace session will take place on Wednesday, November 17th from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at the Delta St. John’s Hotel and Convention Centre. It is open to Noia members and other organizations interested in creating a workplace supportive of diversity and inclusion.

If you have not already done so, registration is available here. COVID protocols, including NLVaxPass verification, will be in place. Space is limited and registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

I cannot wait to see you at this very important event.

Stay well!
