Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Catherine leads design and experience strategy for the Ads and Commerce product areas at Google. She is also an active writer and speaker on creativity, innovation, and design. Catherine’s topic is Design Thinking to Disrupt Traditional Thinking: Strategic approaches to help drive new ideas and innovation.
Catherine has been featured in Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, Huffington Post, and TEDx. She has been recognized twice by the Silicon Valley Business Journal – firstly, as one of Silicon Valley’s 40 Under 40 young tech leaders, as well as one of Silicon Valley’s 100 Most Influential Women. In addition, Catherine made Forbes list of Top 10 Rising Stars at The World’s Most Innovative Companies.
Catherine holds a Masters of Applied Sciences, specializing in Human Factors, from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland.
