Noia Membership Markets Local Expertise at Offshore Technology Conference, Houston, Tx

An oil & gas industry delegation from Newfoundland & Labrador, including many Noia (Newfoundland & Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association) members will be attending the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, Texas, this year.  2014 marks the 34th year in a row that Noia has participated in this highly regarded oil & gas conference.  OTC takes place from May 5-8.

“OTC receives a tremendous amount of attention from international media and is an excellent opportunity to highlight the current and future activity of Newfoundland & Labrador’s petroleum industry and to showcase our local expertise,” said John Henley, Chair of Noia’s Board of Directors.  “This year we are anticipating more attention for our region than ever since being declared the bright spot on the nation’s energy landscape.  This was due in large part to the discovery of new basins in Labrador by Nalcor Energy, the development of the Hebron Project and the Statoil announcement of the biggest oil find worldwide in 2013 in the Flemish Pass.”

Founded in 1969, the Offshore Technology Conference is the world’s foremost event for the development of offshore resources in the fields of drilling, exploration, production, and environmental protection. OTC is held annually at the Reliant Center in Houston.   Each year, it attracts more than 90,000 attendees from 110+ countries and 2,500 exhibiting companies.

“Noia works to ensure that our members are supported in their business development efforts in the U.S. in partnership with the provincial Department of Natural Resources, added Mr. Henley”

Following OTC, Noia will hold its 2014 Annual Conference, Play on the Edge.  The conference will take place from June 17-20.  For more details on the Noia 2014 Conference, visit: www.noiaconference.com.
