PIHRC was established in December 1998 to consider employment, training and other relevant human resource development issues related to the emerging regional petroleum sector.
The committee has been involved in identifying and discussing key gaps and issues related to human resources supply and demand within the offshore petroleum industry, including the supply and service sector.
PIHRC is comprised of senior industry and government representatives. Core member organizations include Energy NL, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) and the provincial government departments of Natural Resources, Education, and Advanced Education and Skills.
Additionally, Energy NL and CAPP members serve in various capacities, including executive committee positions and sub-committees working on PIHRC’s current projects.
