St. John’s, NL – On Friday, January 15, 2016, the Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board (C-NLOPB) announced it was undertaking public consultations on the draft revised Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Benefits Plan Guidelines.
Today, the Newfoundland and Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (Noia) submitted its feedback to the C-NLOPB on behalf of its 600+ members.
“Given the far reaching impact of how the benefits provisions of the Atlantic Accord impact our members into the future, we felt that it was imperative to thoroughly consult with our members and hear their thoughts on this important issue,” said Robert Cadigan, Noia’s President and CEO. “I am pleased that we heard directly from over 100 members and their valuable input has informed the submission presented today.”

These sentiments are reflected in the submission made today to the Board, in particular, the need for greater focus on the long-term development of the industry to ensure that it is sustainable and will create a lasting legacy for all Newfoundlanders and Labradorians,” added Raymond Collins, Chair of Noia’s Board of Directors.
