St. John’s, NL (May 11, 2016) — The Newfoundland and Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (Noia) is pleased to be delivering another exceptional oil & gas conference this year. Themed “Fueling the Future & Re-energizing Change”, this year’s conference will bring together industry leaders to reflect on the current climate of the oil & gas industry and ways to improve operational efficiency, as well as discuss the future of exploration.
Building upon that theme, this year’s delegates will have the opportunity to participate in an engaging panel discussion titled: Adapting to Global Change: Lessons Learned from Different Jurisdictions.
The past few years have been ones of change and adaptation in the global offshore sector. New technology development has allowed the industry to venture deeper and to more remote areas of the globe, while mature areas like the North Sea have focused on improving recovery and enhancing traditional basins. The industry has also faced cost constraints amplified by challenging world oil prices.
Moderated by Randy Hiscock, President of Avalon Upstream, this session will feature expert panelists who will discuss how global developments have impacted how they do business, as well as the perspective of senior representatives from other jurisdictions and the global industry.
Panelists are:
Stephen Marcos Jones, Director of Business Excellence, Oil & Gas UK
Peter Bjerager, Director of Operations, Oil & Gas, DNV-GL, North America
Håkon Skretting, Regional Director, INTSOK
Knut Boe, President North Sea Canada, Technip
The panel takes place on day two of the Noia Conference, Wednesday June 22, from 8:30 a.m. to 9:50 a.m., at the St. John’s Convention Centre.
The Noia Oil & Gas Conference 2016 will once again offer the most current information from the oil & gas industry in Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore. The annual Noia Conference is the largest offshore conference in Canada and provides delegates with crucial information on trends and business opportunities in the East Coast Canada oil & gas industry.
