(St. John’s, NL – April 25, 2024) Energy NL held its 2024 Annual General Meeting today in St. John’s at the Sheraton Hotel. At the AGM, results of member elections were announced as new members joined the Board of Directors and outgoing members were thanked for their contribution.
Jeremy Whittle, Chief Operating Officer of Crosbie, began his one-year term as Chair of the Board of Directors. Richard Mandeville, Vice President of Subsea – Canada & Country Manager for TechnipFMC, was acclaimed as Vice Chair. Each year the Vice Chair assumes the role of Chair.
Stephanie Gruchy, Director of Business Strategy & Development – Services, Maintenance & Marine with Pennecon Limited, was elected Treasurer.
Eight candidates stood for election for five vacant positions of Director who serve a two-year term. The successful candidates were:
• Erin Gillis – Director, Business Development & Client Relations, DF Barnes;
• Beth McGrath – Partner, McInnes Cooper;
• Gillian Pearson – Director of Client Relations & Corporate Communications, Robot Interactive + Marketing;
• Stephen Penton – Director, Engineering Consultancy, Aker Solutions Canada; and,
• Andrew Short – Chief Operations Officer, Integrated Logistics
During the AGM Energy NL also acknowledged the following outgoing board members for their dedicated service:
• Christian Somerton (Deacon Investments), Past Chair
• Sheldon Lace (Atlantic Towing), Treasurer
• Jennifer Haley (Aker Solutions Canada), Director
Members of the new Board of Directors commence their role with immediate effect.

Energy NL represents approximately 500 member organizations worldwide which are involved in the energy sector. Members are active in all areas of the supply and service sector and include a diverse representation of businesses that range from offshore supply vessels and helicopters, carbon reduction and sustainable technologies, health and safety equipment and training, engineering solutions and fabricators to law firms and human resource agencies.
