(St. John’s, NL – September 21, 2023) Energy NL will once again recognize leaders in the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry through the Energy NL Industry Achievement Awards. After a nomination process undertaken with its membership, Energy NL is pleased to announce the recipients of awards which celebrate achievement and leadership in five industry categories. These individuals and companies have made an extraordinary contribution to the energy industry and will be recognized at a gala event September 28 at the Delta Hotels St. John’s Conference Centre.
The Energy NL John C. Crosbie Award for Outstanding Contribution recognizes individuals who have provided exemplary service to the energy industry of Newfoundland and Labrador and who throughout their career have advocated for and supported the inclusion and growth of Energy NL members and Newfoundland and Labrador companies in the energy industry. The 2023 recipient of the Energy NL John C. Crosbie Award for Outstanding Contribution is Dr. Ciaran O’Shea.
The Energy NL Rising Star Award recognizes outstanding achievement by an impressive individual, 40 years old or under, who has made remarkable strides in their role within the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry. The 2023 recipient of the Energy NL Rising Star Award is Barbara O’Rielly of ExxonMobil Canada.
The Energy NL Diversity and Inclusion Award recognizes an individual or company which has made a significant contribution to the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry in the area of diversity and inclusion, with their efforts having had a positive impact on their business or organization or the local industry. The 2023 recipient of the Energy NL Diversity and Inclusion Award is DF Barnes.
The Energy NL Business Growth Award recognizes a member company which has achieved exceptional growth and success in its business through market development, export, diversification, and leadership. The 2023 recipient of the Energy NL Business Growth Award is The Port of Argentia.
The Energy NL Innovation in Environmental Sustainability Award recognizes a member company which has achieved success in innovation through the development and implementation of an innovative product, technology, process, program, or policy which has or will benefit the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry by reducing its environmental footprint and help the industry achieve net zero by 2050. The 2023 recipient of the Energy NL Innovation in Environmental Sustainability Award is Eastern Composite Services.
