(St. John’s, NL – August 30, 2023) The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador today announced the results of the stage two review of its call for bids for land associated with proposed wind and clean fuels projects for Newfoundland and Labrador. Energy NL congratulates the four member companies who were successful and looks forward to the next steps of their projects, including environmental assessment.

Four Energy NL member companies will receive Wind Application Recommendation Letters from the Provincial Government as they move forward to apply for Crown land for their projects. This is a significant step forward, both for the four companies and for our sector and places us on a path to being leaders in the production of renewable energy.”

The Government of Newfoudnalnd and Labrador received 24 bids from 19 companies in the initial call for bids, with nine bids from nine companies proceeding into stage two. The results of stage two were announced today with ABO Wind, EverWind Fuels, Exploits Valley Renewable Energy Company (EVREC), and World Energy GH2 being the recipients of Wind Application Recommendation Letters. Companies may now register for a Crown land application and projects will require an environmental assessment before they can proceed. Further information is available here.
