(February 18 – St. John’s, NL) – Noia is pleased to announce the 2022 Industry Achievement Awards will be presented during a gala event as part of its annual Conference & Exhibition on Tuesday, May 31.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Industry Achievement Awards. In recognition of this milestone there are exciting changes to the event format, including recognition of an industry titan, as well as three new awards to recognize and honour the people and companies leading the way in the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry.
“As we mark 20 years of honouring our industry, I am thrilled that we are adding additional awards to the Industry Achievement Awards and honouring a titan of the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry. Our Outstanding Achievement Award will be renamed the John C. Crosbie Award for Outstanding Achievement to recognize the support Mr. Crosbie provided our offshore oil and gas industry, not just to start it, but to ensure its continued success. Further, we will be adding recognition of members who are striving to strengthen diversity and inclusion in our energy industry, members who have made advancements in innovation for environmental sustainability, and those who have experienced industry-leading growth in their business.”

There will be five awards presented during the gala, three individual awards and two Noia member company awards. The individual awards are the John C. Crosbie Award for Outstanding Contribution, the Rising Star Award, and a new Diversity and Inclusion Award. Also, the Innovation in Environmental Sustainability Award and the Business Growth Award will be awarded for the first time.
The Rising Star Award recognizes an individual 40 years of age or under who has already made significant strides within the industry. The Diversity and Inclusion Award will recognize an individual who has made a significant contribution in the area of diversity and inclusion, and their efforts will have had a positive impact on their business or organization and/or the local industry.
The Innovation in Environmental Sustainability Award will recognize a Noia member company which has achieved success in innovation through the development and implementation of an innovative product, technology, process, program, or policy which has or will benefit the Newfoundland and Labrador energy industry by reducing its environmental footprint and helping the industry achieve net zero by 2050. The Business Growth Award will recognize a Noia member company which has achieved exceptional growth and success in its business through market development, export, diversification, and leadership.

To nominate an individual and/or company worthy of recognition through the Industry Achievement Awards, please review the nomination criteria on the Noia website and complete the nomination form for the applicable award. Please note that each nomination must be seconded by a Noia member.
Nominations are due by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 7.
