The province’s offshore regulator has issued a Significant Discovery licence to Equinor for the Harpoon O-85 exploration well.
The recoverable oil volume from the Harpoon discovery is estimated at 40-million barrels.
The Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Offshore Petroleum Board’s interpretation of well and seismic data has resulted in an update to its reserves and resources table.
The Harpoon discovery has now been added in the resources section.
The licence was issued in October.
