Fall Seminar 2019 Agenda and Media Registration

For over 20 years Noia’s Fall Seminar has offered a program that focuses on emerging issues and opportunities related to the offshore oil & gas industry, as well as innovative solutions to grow the industry for Newfoundland and Labrador and Canada. On October 10, industry leaders will gather at the St. John’s Convention Centre for Fall Seminar which will focus on Drilling Down for Future Opportunities in Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore oil & gas industry.

Noia is pleased to announce that Jim Beresford, Equinor’s operated licence asset manager and technical manager of the Bay du Nord Development Project, will be the keynote luncheon speaker for Fall Seminar 2019. Jim Beresford is based in St. John’s where the focus of his role is to represent and mature Equinor’s interest in operated licences and to safely advance the Bay du Nord Project towards potential development.

Noia’s Fall Seminar 2019 will focus on advancing the offshore industry in Newfoundland and Labrador through exploration drilling activities. To begin the day Jim Keating, Nalcor Energy executive vice president – offshore development and corporate services will discuss the offshore oil & gas industry. Walk-to-Work will be discussed by Anderson Noel, master mariner with Global Marine, and Per Arild Andersen, vice president of drilling and subsurface solutions with Cognite North America, will explore digitalization in exploration. James Nunnery, rig manager with Seadrill Canada, will highlight the recently completed thruster changeout of the West Aquarius at Bull Arm Fabrication.

As well, a panel discussion titled Drilling: Future, Opportunities and Technology will take place featuring:

  • Transocean – Dan Haslam – Operations Manager
  • KCA Deutag – Gregory Stacey – QHSE & T Manager
  • Noble Corporation – Jason Power – Country Manager

In particular, Equinor’s Bay du Nord project, which could provide significant opportunities for the supply and service sector and economic benefits for Newfoundland and Labrador.”
