The Newfoundland and Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (Noia) today announced that day passes are now available for purchase for the Noia 2018 Oil & Gas Conference.
The Noia 2018 Oil & Gas Conference is Canada’s flagship offshore oil & gas industry information event, attracting global oil & gas industry leaders as both speakers and delegates. Themed Redefining Oil: The Time is Now, the 2018 conference will once again deliver the latest updates on exploration, development, and production activities in Canada’s offshore oil & gas industry.
Conference sessions include speakers with varied backgrounds and experiences in the offshore oil & gas industry. The six sessions offered over the three conference days are outlined below:
- On Tuesday, June 19, Session One “Our Changing Industry” will include information on the prospectivity of the Newfoundland and Labrador offshore, why it was ranked the most attractive Canadian area for investment and what may threaten that ranking. Session Two, titled “Regulatory Change & the Need for Speed to Market” will discuss how regulatory regimes impact project timelines and include lessons learned and best practices from Norway.
- Wednesday, June 20 features a panel on “Innovation and Collaboration” as part of Session Three. Session Four is titled “Change with Innovation” and includes discussion on innovation, digitalization and superclusters.
- Session Five on Thursday, June 21 focuses on technology, especially as it relates to subsea activities and production facilities operating without onsite employees in the “Disruptive Technology: Embracing CHANGE” session. Session Six, “The Time is Now,” will focus on why developing Newfoundland and Labrador’s offshore is important for the province and Canada and an integral part of moving toward low-carbon energy.
