St. John’s, NL (May 19, 2017) — The Newfoundland and Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (Noia) is pleased to announce the keynote luncheon speakers for this year’s annual oil & gas conference as Rex Murphy, Bruce Croxon and the Honourable Brian Peckford.
The Noia Oil & Gas Conference is Canada’s flagship offshore oil & gas industry information event, attracting global oil & gas industry leaders as both speakers and delegates. Themed Offshore Newfoundland: Relevant, Untapped & Resilient, the 2017 conference will once again deliver the latest updates on exploration, production and development activities in Canada’s offshore oil & gas industry and offer over 1,000 delegates the opportunity to partake in discussions about timely industry issues and participate in unparalleled networking opportunities.
Rex Murphy, correspondent for CBC’s The National and columnist for the National Post, will be the opening day keynote luncheon speaker. A trusted face and voice across Canadian media, his intellect and biting humour strike through the heart of profound political and social issues. Mr. Murphy will be sure to entertain delegates while also informing them on timely industry issues. This session is taking place Tuesday, June 20 at 12:45 p.m.
Day two’s keynote luncheon speaker is Bruce Croxon – digital investor, entrepreneur & co-host of The Disruptors, as well as a former Dragon’s Den dragon. His presentation “Surviving and Prospering in a Period of Unprecedented Disruption” will share insights on how businesses can adapt in an environment where nothing seems to stay the same. Mr. Croxon stresses the importance of vision and values in order to grow organizations in a fast-moving business environment. His talk will also focus on the importance of collaboration, innovation, having an open mind and the need to stay on the cusp of technology. This session is taking place Wednesday, June 21 at 1:00 p.m.
The final Noia conference keynote luncheon will feature the Honourable Brian Peckford, former premier of Newfoundland and Labrador. In honour of Noia’s 40th anniversary being celebrated in 2017 with the theme of Learning from the past. Focused on the future, Mr. Peckford will provide a timely address about the origins of the industry, the efforts that led to the Atlantic Accord and his thoughts on the future during his presentation titled “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.” This keynote luncheon will close the conference on Thursday, June 22, at 1:00 p.m.
